Teen Accused Of Stealing $149 In Merchandise From Macy's, Police Say
A teen from Mahopac has been accused of stealing nearly $150 of Macy’s merchandise, police say. Yorktown Police say they received a report of a shoplifting incident at Macy’s on Thursday, April 4 around 6 p.m. The complainant stated that the suspect fled the scene in a blue Honda Civic. Officers responded and located the vehicle on Route 6. Police say the woman, identified as 19-year-old Michele Ward, left the store without paying for assorted women’s clothing valued at $149. Eight Westchester Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Labor Day Weekend Stops
Dozens of area residents were nabbed for driving while intoxicated by state police during the three-day Labor Day weekend. They include: Westchester Adam J. Heyd, 37, of Somers. He was traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Putnam Valley when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Michele A. Ridlon, 47, of Dobbs Ferry. Northern Westchester Pair Among Those Charged With DWI Over Weekend
With local and state police agencies cracking down on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among nearly two dozen in the area who found themselves on the wrong side of the law over the weekend. As part of the STOP-DWI Independence Day week-long crackdown, State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area. Car Slams Into Popular Dog Daycare Business In Area
Luckily no dogs, or humans, were hurt when a car slammed into the front of Pawsitively Petastic on Route 6 in Mahopac. The crash happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday when a person who had just dropped off their pet at the popular dog hotel and daycare drove into the front of the building at 395 Route 6, said the owner, Lia Herlihy. A Putnam County man is facing drug charges after being busted by a police officer in Yorktown who spotted drug activity in a vehicle. An officer on patrol near the intersection of Curry Street and Jennifer Court in Yorktown Heights allegedly observed drug activity inside a truck involving Lake Peekskill resident James Paccione, 61, who proceeded to leave the area and drive off onto Route 6. A Mohegan Lake man is facing multiple misdemeanor charges following an early morning traffic stop when he was allegedly drinking and driving.
