Truck Flips, Spills Landscaping Equipment On Highway On-Ramp In Westchester Traffic on a highway on-ramp in Northern Westchester was slowed when a truck flipped over on its side and spilled landscaping equipment.  The crash happened on Saturday afternoon, June 3 when first responders were sent to the on-ramp between Interstate 684 north and Route 35 in Katonah for a rollover accident, according to the Katonah Fire Department.  Once arriving at the scene, first responders found that the driver had been able to get himself out of the truck, which had flipped onto its side.  The driver was then assessed for injuries while a safe zone was set up for fir…

House Fire Breaks Out In Westchester Multiple crews responded to a fire that broke out at a home in Northern Westchester. Firefighters responded to a report of a grill fire at a residence on Route 202 in Somers at about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters found a two-story home with a fire on the exterior. With the fire spreading into the residence, crews called for additional resources in the area, officials said. Beloved High School Teacher, Coach In Westchester Dies A lifelong Hudson Valley resident who was a beloved high school coach, and teacher, as well as the chief of a local fire department, and a standout college athlete in Connecticut, has died. The Goldens Bridge Fire Department received the call for the fire around 8:23 p.m. Sunday at 8 Manor Drive, said Assistant Chief Al Melillo. Massive Search Follows Report Of People, Dog Missing In Westchester Multiple reports of a group of people and then a dog on the ice who went missing on the Muscoot Reservoir in Northern Westchester set off a massive ice search that lasted more than four hours. Synagogue In Westchester Damaged By Fire Firefighters managed to save a majority of religious items and artifacts during a fire at the Chabad Jewish Center in Bedford Hills. The fire started around 2 p.m. Tuesday at the center located on Railroad Avenue, said Bedford Hills Fire Chief Jason Nickson. Firefighters arrived on the scene within four minutes of the initial call and immediately went to work including searching the structure, said Nickson. More than 75 firefighters battled the blaze that started around 9:44 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of a home on Anita Road, said the Somers Fire Department. The fire, which spread to the first and second floor, left the homeowner, Nancy Haggerty, a lifetime Somers resident, without any belongings and missing her four cats.
