Bamboo Planting Banned In This Westchester Town After Complaints From Residents If you were looking to add bamboo to your backyard, you may be flat out of luck if you live in the Westchester town that just banned residents from doing so following several complaints.  On Wednesday, July 12, the Greenburgh Town Board approved legislation that bans new bamboo plantings and tightly regulates existing ones, Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said.  The legislation now makes it unlawful for Greenburgh residents to plant running bamboo into the ground.
