First Baby Of 2024 Welcomed By Hospital In Westchester A medical center in Westchester is celebrating the first baby delivered by its midwives in 2024.  The first baby to be born in 2024 at Open Door Family Medical Center at Phelps Hospital in Port Chester was announced to be Yessenia Ramirez-Calderon, officials said on Thursday, Jan. 11. Ramirez-Calderon was born on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 12:10 p.m. and weighed in at 7 pounds. She was born to Arlin Calderon and Wilfredo Ramirez of Port Chester and has a big brother, Nicholas, and a big sister, Arlinda.  The medical center released a picture of the happy family…

Police Officer Delivers Baby At Westchester Home A Westchester police officer came to the rescue of a mother in active labor and ended up delivering her baby at her residence. The delivery took place around 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 22, after Greenburgh Police officers and EMS units responded to a residence in the Fairview section of the Town of Greenburgh for a patient that was experiencing labor pains and contractions. 'Probie' Helps Deliver Baby Girl On First Run As Firefighter In Westchester A "probie" (probationary) firefighter got more than he bargained for on his first shift, the delivery of a baby. The delivery took place around 7:27 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, on Riverdale Avenue, said Yonkers Deputy Chief Joseph Citrone. According to the chief, members from engine company 303 from Station 3 on Vark St. including Capt. Chris Canfield, FF Tom Kilduff, FF Tom Halpin, and Probationary FF Michael Iacovello delivered a baby girl.  "That was PFF Iacovello’s first tour in the firehouse," Citrone said. All are well.
