Edney and his coach Rasaun Young were on hand Wednesday in Los Angeles and seen on the nationally-televised Espy Award show when the winner of the award -- University of South Carolina linebacker Jadeveon Clowney -- won for his bone-crushing quarterback sack.
Edney's shot was one of 16 nominated plays that began the competition voted on by millions of fans around the world. The 55-Foot miracle shot went viral over YouTube and other social media sites and Edney made several television appearances before helping the Huguenots to the Class AA state semifinals before falling just short of a state title. A graduate in June, Edney did lead New Rochelle's varsity football team to a Class AA State football championship in the fall before moving on to the basketball court.
