WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y, -- The New Rochelle defense led the way Saturday, forcing an early turnover that led to a touchdown, as the visiting Huguenots topped host R.C. Ketcham 28-6 and moved into Thursday Class AA first-round playoff game.
New Rochelle (6-1), the defending Section 1 Class champion, has won its last three after being upset by John Jay in Week 4. The Huguenots are a No. 2 seed and will play local rival No. 3 White Plains (4-2) at home at a time to be determined.
Kemet McLean scored the games first touchdown and quarterback Khalil Edney found Shaquille Evens with a 6-yard score for a 14-0 lead.
