Two New Rochelle Firefighters Disciplined Following Drug Arrests

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -A pair of New Rochelle firefighters have been disciplined after they were arrested on drug charges last month.

According to a report, firefighter Babatunde Ogunleye has been suspended without pay, while probationary firefighter Virgilio Torres has been terminated following their arrests in White Plains last month with a third party after they were allegedly observed snorting cocaine in a car.

Following the arrests last month, the two were immediately suspended. City officials have declined to comment on any personnel issues. The two were charged with possession of a controlled substance and two bags of the drug were reportedly recovered by arresting officers.

Fire officials did not immediately respond to phone inquiries late on Wednesday afternoon.
