Police Investigating Shooting Outside New Rochelle Daycare

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – One suspect is in custody after gunshots rang out in front of a local daycare center in New Rochelle on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, police responded to reports of shots fired in front of New Rochelle Day Nursery on Clinton Avenue. A bulletin was subsequently issued for the suspect, and Westchester County police officials identified the individual in Yonkers.

According to reports, a second suspect remains at large.

It remains unclear what prompted the gun fire; and there are no reported injuries. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
