NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Several New Rochelle residents were given quite the scare on Thursday afternoon, when a car fire threatened two North Avenue residences before firefighters could extinguish it.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, police and fire crews were forced to respond to 11 North Avenue, after the car fire was reported to officials, which was perilously close to spreading to two nearby homes.
The fire burned for several minutes, singing the side of the residence, before firefighters arrived and were quickly able to extinguish the blaze. Fire officials were unable to identify the source of the fire as of Friday morning.
