NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Paul H. Tyson Sr. of New Rochelle died June 1. He was 68.
Tyson was the owner and operator of Tyson and Co. Jewelers in Port Chester since 2000.
He was born Dec. 8, 1943, in New Haven, Conn., to the Rev. James Tyson and Bertha Oliver Tyson. In the early 1960s he moved to New York, where he met and married Gwendolyn DeVane.
Tyson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gwendolyn Tyson; a daughter, Debbie Tyson; two sons, David Tyson and Paul Tyson Jr.; nine siblings; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A viewing will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in New Rochelle. Funeral services will immediately follow.
