Hector Giannasca, 88, Longtime New Rochelle Resident, WWII Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Hector Giannasca, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Nov. 3. He was 88.

Giannasca was born June 25, 1925, in Revere, Mass., to Ettore and Alessandra (Buonopane) Giannasca. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Intrepid. He worked for many years as a furniture manufacturer and was the owner of Superior Reed and Ratan, Four Seasons Rattan, Hexreed Industries and Rattan & Mica Corp. in Bronx. Giannasca is survived by his children, John F. Giannasca, Thomas M. Giannasca, and Judith Ann D’Andrea; nine grandchildren; former wife Tina Spina. He was predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Lynda A. Koske.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Queens.
