NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Charles H. Vaughn Jr. of New Rochelle, formerly of Pelham Manor, died Friday, Sept. 5. He was 70.
Vaughn was born March 15, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charles H. Vaughn and Priscilla Neville Vaughn.
He graduated from Gonzaga Prep in Washington, D.C., and received a bachelor's degree from Boston College and a master's in business administration from Northwestern University. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1966 and following graduation from Officer Candidate School he volunteered and served in Vietnam.
He was active in the American Legion Pelham Post No. 50, N.Y. He had a career in commercial real estate acquisitions in New York City. After his marriage he lived with his family in Pelham Manor for 36 years before relocating to New Rochellein 2013.
Vaughn is survived by his wife, Helen (Lynn) Marion; daughter, Christine of New Rochelle; brother, John W. Vaughn (Jean) of Norwell, Mass.; two nieces; and an aunt, Katherine Vaughn.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Pelham Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham. Interment is private.
