What's on Tap This Week in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Here’s a look at what is happening this week throughout New Rochelle.

Iona College president Joseph Nyre will be inaugurated as the school’s eighth president at 1 p.m. Friday in the Hynes Athletic Center.

Fall leaf collection is now underway through December. Bagged leaves will be picked up citywide on the following dates: November 5, 12, and 19, and December 3, 10, and 17. With the onset of leaf collection, yard waste collection is suspended until spring. Street sweeping is suspended during leaf collection season; however, alternate side of the street parking rules will remain in effect to facilitate leaf removal.

The Farmer's Market continues Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the library green.

The Merchant’s Urchins Parade will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. through downtown New Rochelle led by the New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department. The procession, involving Ragamuffins (through third grade) will begin at New Roc City and end at the library green weather permitting.  Treats and pumpkin painting will be available afterwards.
