Bronx-New Rochelle Elks Lodge Check Presentation: 5 p.m. A $500 check will be presented to Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudsons CEO Pam Anderson from the lodge. Two Girl Scout troops will also be on hand. The check, which goes directly to the girl scouts, is part of a grant awarded to the New Rochelle Elks by the National Elks organization because of their philanthropic activities with their primary charity The Cerebral Palsy Foundation. The organization has chosen to share the contributions with other worthy organizations in their area such as the Girl Scouts as they are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. New Rochelle School Board Meetings: 7 p.m. The board meets in a committee of a whole session to further discuss the 2012-13 proposed budget book, and announce plans for the winter student athlete presentation. The board will then meet in a special meeting at 8 p.m. Davis Elementary School Auditorium. 80 Iselin Drive.

New Rochelle Yard Waste Collection Pickup: 7 a.m. 8 a.m. Department of Public Work crews will be working throughout the week except Monday in different areas of the city picking up items residents dont want anymore, and debris from their yard.
Thursday, April 26
New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency Meeting: 5:30 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to voice their concerns about the building located at 55 Maple Terrace. This is a continuation of the matter that was discussed at a previous city council meeting. The agency will then go into regular business on a variety of items including approval of the annual financial statement for the 2011 fiscal year and an update about pipeline projects throughout the city. City hall conference room B-1.
Special Education Parent Teacher Association We Are One Dinner: 6 p.m. Cocktail Hour and Dinner. This event recognizes a representative from each New Rochelle school who fosters an inclusive environment for all children. It is a great opportunity for SEPTA to recognize members of the school staff for making a difference in the lives of the citys children. Greentree Country Club. 538 Davenport Ave.

Friday, April 27
United Hebrew We Are Champions: Senior Athletes in Motion Screening: 2 p.m.
This event celebrates active seniors through a program acknowledging senior athletes from throughout Westchester and the showing of a documentary called We Are Champions: Senior Athletes in Motion. A reception in the organizations Lazarus Gallery will be held afterwards. United Hebrew of New Rochelle, 391 Pelham Road.
A photographic exhibit entitled We are Champions: Senior Athletes in Motion will also be unveiled in the Lazarus Gallery of United Hebrews new nursing home and rehabilitation pavilion. The exhibit will feature a series of photographic portraits that capture the spirit and energy of active senior athletes.
