Metro-North customers experienced residual delays of up to 20 minutes on the Harlem Line and delays of up to 10 minutes on the New Haven and Hudson lines during the Tuesday evening commute.
The Harlem Line delays were as a result of single-tracking and speed restrictions between Scarsdale and Hartsdale.
The New Haven and Hudson line delays were because of “slip-slide" conditions.
"Slip-slide" refers to crushed leaves covering tracks with a gelatinous coating, causing the wheels to literally slip or slide on the rails.
