Those who organized Monday’s Police Appreciation rally outside New Rochelle City Hall said media reports focusing on recent police-involved shootings don’t accurately depict most of the county’s police officers, according to News 12.

Peter Parente, an event organizer, told News 12 that he intended for the rally to be a patriotic gathering that would allow the community to offer thanks to police officers -- particularly because they've been viciously targeted in recent months.
