The $250 million plant at 1 Le Fevres Lane was recognized by the Westchester/Putnam chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers during its annual dinner dance at the Westchester Manor, according to lohud.com.
Several engineering firms that performed work on the project accepted the award, including Saving Engineers, Arcadis, CDM Smith and GHD, according to lohud.com.
The society's president said the project served to "vastly improve the quality of the water discharging into the Long Island Sound," according to lohud.com.
