A highlight of the afternoon was the announcement of the winners of the “I Found it at the Library” video competition and a screening of the top three films: First prize and a check for $1,000 went to Martha Kemp-Neilson, second prize and a check for $500 went to Quincy A. Campbell and third prize and a check for $250 was awarded to Andrew Renzetti.
The competition was open to New Rochelle residents in grades 9 through 12; free workshops taught by industry professionals were offered over the summer, and competition judges included Tom Honeysett, broadcast editor of CBS TV’s "60 Minutes," Evan Klupt, director of production for NBC’s "Today" Show and David Saperstein, author of The New York Times bestseller and Academy Award-winning film "Cocoon. "
Saperstein has also written, directed and produced for film and TV and has taught film at NYU's Graduate Tisch School and Manhattan Marymount College.
The winning videos will be posted on the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation and NRPL websites.
