Since its release last week, Pokemon Go has swept the nation - young and old, male and female - allowing nostalgic fans of the popular gaming franchise to “catch” digital Pokemon in real time right in their neighborhood.

From the developer Niantic, in less than a week since its July 6 release, Nintendo has added $7 billion to its stock value through the game, with millions downloading the location-based augmented reality program, which allows users to interact with virtual Pokemon in real-time using GPS technology.

Since its release, trainers attempting to be the very best have been out in droves, scouring popular New Rochelle parks and historical landmarks seeking that rare Pokemon that will set their team above the rest. On Tuesday, At the New Rochelle Library, a Rattata could be spotted by users in the walkway up toward the front door, while a Venonat could be found perusing the recent arrivals in the adult section.
