Monday, Oct 15

Pelham School Board Meeting: 8 p.m. Board members, and Pelham residents can hear an update about the search for the district's new school superintendent during this meeting. Prior to the public session, the board goes into executive session at 7:30 p.m. to discuss separate items not pertaining to the search. Pelham High School Alumni Hall, 575 Colonial Ave., Pelham.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

New Rochelle City Council Meeting: 7 to 9 p.m. The council meets to vote on items it chose to move to a vote including regulations for booting cars that are parked illegally. New Rochelle City Hall, 515 North Ave., New Rochelle.

Village of Pelham Trustees Meeting: 7:30 p.m. Pelham trustees meet for their monthly meeting to discuss various items on the agenda. Village of Pelham Hall, 195 Sparks Ave.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

New Rochelle Public School Half-Day: All New Rochelle Schools have a half day.

New Rochelle Senior Be Educated About Transit Program: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. County Executive Rob Astorino launches the Senior – Be Educated About Transit Program during a special visit to New Rochelle seniors in order to teach them how they can use the county’s public transportation system to be more independent when they travel. Astorino will also talk about the impact transportation has on senior living. Brochures, games, and video will be available. New Rochelle Hugh A. Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Ave., New Rochelle.

New Rochelle Civil Service Commission Meeting: 3 p.m. The group meets to discuss various items. New Rochelle City Hall Annex, 90 Beaufort Pl, room b-1.

Half-Day of School: All New Rochelle public schools have a half-day. 

Thursday, Oct. 18

Second Annual New Rochelle BID and Monroe College Diabetes Expo: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event offers diabetes information, health screening, and information on managing diabetes, nutrition, exercise and other health issues. The free event joins health care facilities, businesses and diabetes-related organizations within the community to promote diabetes self-management and healthier lifestyle for people with the disease.  Attendees can also receive giveaways, and listen to speakers.
