Each pass of oil onto a canvas represents a new interaction. They are puzzles for the painter, ultimately creating a visual image. Her challenge To let the image be revealed without hiding earlier iterations on the canvas.
Her first solo exhibition, aptly named, "Iterations in Oil Paint" opens Thursday, Sept. 8 and runs to Sept. 18.
The public is welcome to the opening reception, held 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The Gallery at Jolo's where the artist will be on hand. There will be vegan hors d'oeuvres available.
The New Rochelle painter graduated from the University of Michigan and has exhibited in many galleries, though this is her first solo exhibition.
She is also an educator and proponent of student-directed learning. The artist has spoken nationally and at local conferences on the topic. She is the author of the eBook, "Choice Without Chaos," for art teachers.

The gallery is located at 49 Lawton St. is behind Jolo's Restaurant. It is open noon to 10 p.m. every day except Sunday and Tuesday.
