NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The next League of Women Voters of New Rochelle Coffee and Conversation meeting will feature Councilman Jared Rice on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the New Rochelle Public Library meeting room.
Rice, co-chair of the steering committee of My Brother's Keeper in New Rochelle, will give an update of the initiative's plan of action. The meeting is open to the public.
My Brother's Keeper, initiated by President Obama, challenges communities to take steps to improve the life outcomes of young men of color. New Rochelle is one of at least 200 communities nationally, and the only one in Westchester, to have accepted the challenge.
My Brother's Keeper and the plan of action are supported by the City of New Rochelle, school district and numerous community organizations and individuals.
Coffee and Conversation is an ongoing series of informal gatherings with guests discussing public issues.
