Come To Teen Programs, Events, Exhibits At New Rochelle Public Library

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The following teen programs, events and exhibits are being held at the New Rochelle Public Library:

  • Anime & Gaming Clubs "Gamer Clash:" This twice monthly tournament takes place on the second and fourth Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Teen Room. Gamers are invited to join in for two hours of video game competing. Prizes are awarded to the Tournament Champion.The competition is open to anyone in grades 6–12. Contact the teen services librarian for more information. 
  • Seasonal Programs: When school’s out during the summer, the library offers a cool retreat for free workshops. Examples include cooking demos, yoga, dance classes, craft workshops, films and other programs suggested by and for teens entering grades 6–12. All are free and available on a drop-in basis, usually after 4 p.m. These programs take place in the Teen Room, Meeting Room and Ossie Davis Theater. 
  • Summer Reading Programs and Activities: A summer reading challenge lets students entering grades 7–12 read for their own enjoyment and collect prizes, extra credit for school, and an invitation to an end-of-summer party. Sign-up at the end of June or beginning of July at the second floor information desk.
