NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Parents looking to get their kids into the game right from the get go will soon have the opportunity as A-Game Sports gets set to launch it’s Little Athletes Academy in New Rochelle.
The Little Athletes Academy is a 10-session program geared toward the physical and emotional development of children under 5 years old that will be at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Since former Wall Street magnates Darin Feldman and Kevin Plein founded A-Game Sports last year, the organization has conducted countless sports camps and programs for the city’s youth that are conducted under the watchful eyes of college and former professional athletes that act as trainers and teachers.
According to Feldman and Plein, the Little Athletes Academy “was started under the premise that a child’s attitude toward sports, exercise, recreation, competition and personal achievement is influenced very early in life.”
Children also will learn about setting goals, respecting their peers and resolving conflict.
The Little Athletes Academy will officially open Tuesday, Feb. 24, but parents are advised to register in advance due to a limited number of available openings for the camp.
Feldman said as A-Game Sports continues to expand, they will continue to look to fill holes they see in youth recreation programs throughout the county.
"We saw a lack of programs available to southern Westchester parents that are looking for either sport or athletic related activity for their young children,” he said. “As a result, we decided to form the A-Game Sports Little Athletes Academy, a source of programming for infants, toddlers and pre-K children that helps kids at an early age become comfortable with physical exercise, team sports and personal accomplishment."
