After Production In Garden City, 'Sopranos' Movie Films In Westchester Fans of the "The Sopranos" might have thought they were seeing double if they were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the original Tony Soprano's son, Michael Gandolfini, while he was filming in Westchester the past two days. Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, is taking on his father's role as mob boss Tony Soprano, in an upcoming HBO drama, "The Many Saints of Newark." Bada Bing: 'Sopranos' Movie Films In Garden City It was like a step back in time when some 250 cast, crew and actors filming the “Sopranos” prequel, "The Many Saints of Newark,” rolled into Garden City. Filming took place Tuesday, April 16,  with cast appearing in black clothing at the Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, at 1201 Franklin Ave.  Gawkers in the area reported seeing star Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini.
