The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau responded to a report of a body in the water at the west end of the beach in Wantagh at about 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, the Nassau County Police Department said. Body Found In Cove On Long Island, Police Say Police are asking for help identifying a man whose body was found in a Long Island cove after police received a 911 call. The incident took place in Sag Harbor around 11:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8. According to Lt. Police Ask Public's Help In Homicide Case Of Man Found Dead Off Northern State Parkway New York State Police are asking the public's help in the investigation of the murder of an unidentified man whose body was found in a black plastic garbage bag in a wooded area off the eastbound shoulder of the Northern State Parkway in Dix Hills.  The man's body was found on March 9, 2000 by highway traffic workers, according to Troop L.
