Man Found Dead In Apparent Hempstead Homicide A second overnight homicide occurred in Nassau County on Sunday, June 9. The latest incident occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. in Hempstead, Nassau County Police said. According to detectives, Hempstead Police received a call for a man lying on the ground on Thorne Avenue and upon arrival they found the body of an unidentified male.  The death, according to detectives, appears to be suspicious in nature.
