Dozens Displaced After Blaze Breaks Out At Motel In Nassau County More than two dozen people were displaced following a fire at a Long Island motel. The blaze broke out in a second-floor room at the Pines Motor Lodge on Taylor Avenue in Westbury at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, fire officials said. Multiple agencies responded to the fire, which was knocked down in approximately an hour. Minor injuries were reportedly sustained by a child and firefighter who were treated at the scene. The fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal. No other details were immediately released.

The Nassau County Police Department received a report of a stranger entering a garage on Oak Ridge Lane in Albertson shortly after 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, prompting an investigation. Police said that investigators later located the vehicle on Taylor Avenue in Westbury, and proceeded to see three men enter it.
