‘Cold-Blooded' Killer Sentenced For Murder, Attempted Home Theft Of Long Island Mechanic
Nearly three years after a 69-year-old engine mechanic was found shot to death inside his Long Island home, his killer is heading to prison for decades. Donatila O’Mahony, age 43, of Central Islip, was sentenced to 25 years to life behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, March 2. Watch: Knife-Wielding Robber Ambushes Inwood Convenience Store Worker
Police are asking for the public’s help after a man armed with a knife robbed a Long Island convenience store. The incident happened at around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Inwood Sunoco located on Sheridan Avenue, according to Nassau County Police. Surveillance footage shows the suspect ambush the worker by jumping over the counter and through an opening in a glass barrier. A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson at a Long Island college gymnasium while people were inside, authorities said. Video: Man Uses Rock To Break Into Long Island Restaurant
Know him? Investigators with the Suffolk County Police Department released surveillance footage of a man caught on camera breaking into Ting Restaurant at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. In the video, the masked man can be seen throwing a rock at the restaurant’s door and repeatedly peeking inside before forcing his way in.
