Man Struck, Killed After Being Hit Two Vehicles At Busy Long Island Intersection
A man was killed after being struck by two vehicles on Long Island. It happened just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in Oakdale. George Collins was attempting to cross eastbound Sunrise Highway Service Road, approximately a half-mile mile west of Oakdale Bohemia Road, when he was struck by two vehicles, Suffolk County Police said. Irene Pastor, was operating a 2018 Hyundai in the left lane when she struck Collins, according to police. Collins ended up in the right lane and then was struck by a 2016 Ford driven by Dyan Sybalski, police said. This is a developing story. Check back to…

Man Killed In Sunrise Highway Service Road Crash
A Suffolk County man was killed after a single-vehicle crash on the Sunrise Highway Service Road. It happened around 5 p.m. Thursday, August 8 in North Patchogue, Suffolk County Police said. Anthony Orlando, 52, of Roberts Road in Shirley, was driving a 2003 Ford pickup when the vehicle veered off the roadway east of Waverly Avenue and crashed on the eastbound Sunrise Highway Service Road, police said. Orlando was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The Ford was impounded for a safety check.
