44-Year-Old Killed In Sunken Meadow State Parkway Crash On Long Island Police have identified a man who they say was killed in a crash on the Sunken Meadow State Parkway. The crash happened on the night of Tuesday, Aug. 1 at approximately 11:30 p.m., according to the New York State Police. Jaron Lowndes, a 44-year-old Amityville resident, was riding his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle on the parkway, traveling southbound. He came upon two cars stuck in the right lane – one was a broken-down Toyota Rav4, and the other was a Ford EcoSport stopped behind it.
