ID Released For Man Shot, Killed Outside Home On Residential Long Island Roadway Police have identified a man who was shot and killed in broad daylight outside a home in a residential Long Island neighborhood. It happened around 8:50 a.m. Friday, April 29 in Ronkonkoma. That's when Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired in front of 385 Wildwood Road. Upon arrival, it was determined a resident of the home, now ID'd as Terry Long, age 32, had been shot outside the residence, said police. Long Island Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Following Attempted Traffic Stop A man was seriously injured after crashing into a pole after an attempted traffic stop overnight after an attempted traffic stop on Long Island. A Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a 1992 Honda coupe, being driven by Ardwin Roberto Pena, age 24, of Deer Park, in the vicinity of Commerce Drive in Hauppauge at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. Know Him? Man Wanted For Stealing From Long Island Macy's, Police Say Know him? Suffolk County Crime Stoppers has released a new photo of a wanted man who allegedly robbed Macy’s at the Smith Haven Mall last fall. Police said that the suspect stole a Nespresso Espresso machine and KitchenAid from the Lake Grove mall on Sept. 23 last year before fleeing in a Chevy with the license plate JPG 8910. No other descriptive information was provided about the suspect. Investigators did not disclose the estimated value of the stolen merchandise. Long Island Woman Drowns In Neighbor's Backyard Pool Police are investigating the drowning death of a Long Island woman in her neighbor's pool. The incident happened in Suffolk County on Wednesday, June 24 at about 6:10 p.m. in Fort Salonga. Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers responded to Truxton Lane after a resident called 911 reporting a woman floating in his backyard pool.  When officers arrived, they found Carol-Jean Werkstell unresponsive in the water. Werkstell, 76, also of Truxton Lane, was transported to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where she was pronounced dead.
