Men Posing As Police Attack, Rob Female Uber Driver In Nassau, Police Say Police are searching for two men who allegedly posed as police officers to stop, attack and rob a female Uber driver on Long Island. The incident took place around 5:15 p.m., Sunday, April 26 in Freeport, said the Nassau County Police.  According to detectives, the 34-year-old female, while driving for Uber, was stopped at the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue and Porterfield Place by a black four-door sedan with a push bar on the front of the vehicle and flashing blue and white lights.  The vehicle was operated by two unknown men who used a police siren to pull the victim …

BMW Driver Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Three Pedestrians In Freeport A Massapequa man whose BMW SUV plowed into three pedestrians on a Freeport Village sidewalk has been charged with DWI and other crimes, police said. Mitchell Messling, 66, was driving the vehicle westbound on West Merrick Road near the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue around 4:10 p.m., Monday, May 27, when he left the roadway and drove partially onto the sidewalk, Nassau County Police said. Multiple Injuries Reported After BMW SUV Loses Control, Strikes Pedestrians In Freeport At least three people were injured when an out-of-control BMW SUV jumped a curb and struck three pedestrians late in the afternoon on Memorial Day. The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. at South Long Beach Avenue and West Merrick Road in Freeport when the SUV traveling westbound landed on the sidewalk near a branch of Bethpage bank and opposite a CVS. Three victims were children and one was airlifted to the hospital, according to ABC 7. There has not been any word yet on the conditions of those injured. This is a developing story.
