Shell Casings Found After Shots Fired On Nassau County Street Police are asking the public for help after locating two shell casings on a Long Island street following a call for shots fired. The incident took place around 1:50 a.m., Monday, July 19, on Grand Avenue near the border of South Hempstead and Baldwin. According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to a call for shots fired in front of 1177 Grand Ave. Upon arrival, officers recovered two shell casings from the street.  There were no injuries or property damage reported. The crash took place around 8:56 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, eastbound near Exit 20 in South Hempstead, said the New York State Police. Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim said there were no serious injuries.  The South Hempstead Fire Department and Nassau County Police assisted at the scene. There is no lane closure at this time, state police said.
