Busy Roadway Scheduled For Closure In Smithtown A busy road will be shut down temporarily over the weekend as residents and local officials get set to celebrate “Smithtown Day.” The Suffolk County Police Department issued an alert on Thursday, cautioning that from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, Main Street will be closed in both directions between Route 111 and Maple Avenue for the annual celebration. Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes as the town prepares for a day of events.
