Long Island Man Nabbed For Hit-Run Crash That Injured Pedestrian, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian last month. Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit On Sidewalk In Nassau Crash A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit on the sidewalk in a chain-reaction crash on Long Island. It happened on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 1:40 p.m. in Massapequa. According to Nassau County Police detectives, while walking on the sidewalk of Ontario Avenue at Broadway, the 47-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a Volkswagen sedan traveling south on Broadway.  The Volkswagen was in a collision with a Mercedes Benz SUV traveling east on Ontario Avenue.  As a result of the collision, the Volkswagen was redirected onto the sidewalk where the victim was struck, police…
