Police Asking For Help Identifying Driver In Crash On Long Island Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a motorist who allegedly struck a vehicle and left the scene. The incident took place in Hauppauge on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at the Starbucks on Route 111. According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police, the driver struck a parked vehicle in front of Starbucks, with his red Jeep and fled the scene. Long Island Man Sentenced For Long Island Expressway Crash That Killed One, Injured Two A Long Island man has been sentenced to 12 to 25 years in prison for a two-vehicle crash that killed a father of four and seriously injured two others while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Fernando Ramirez Jr., age 34, of Bay Shore, who was convicted by a jury in April for the 2017 crash, was sentenced on Tuesday, June 1, said Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini.
