An elderly woman is hospitalized with serious injuries after being rescued from a house fire on Long Island. Fire crews were called at around 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, with reports of a Roosevelt home engulfed in flames on East Raymond Avenue near Nassau Road. When police arrived, they found a 79-year-old man outside who had escaped the home, Nassau County Police said. Three police officers saved a man who was trapped inside a burning Long Island home. The fire took place in Roosevelt around 3:35 p.m., Sunday, April 17, said the Nassau County Police. When officers responded to the call after receiving a 911 call they found that four residents had made it safely outside the burning home, but one man was trapped inside, police said. New details have been released after an early morning four-alarm fire damaged several businesses at a Long Island shopping plaza.
