Thief Found With Glock in East Garden City, Arrested: Police A Long Island man originally arrested for shoplifting was found with a weapon after he was arrested, authorities said. Store security allegedly saw 20-year-old Christian Chavez of East Garden City enter the Roosevelt Field Nordstrom on Thursday, May 4, at around 1:35 p.m., the Nassau County Police reported. Chavez allegedly picked up a pair of shorts, hid them, and exited the store without paying. When officers arrived at the scene, Chavez was arrested without incident.
