Two Charged In Gunfight At Nassau County Party That Killed One
Two men have been arraigned for their alleged roles in a Long Island gunfight that left one man dead at a Fourth of July party in 2020. An investigation found that Thomas Massenburg, age 20, from Brooklyn, fatally shot Rashawn Cummings at the party in 2020 on West Drive in Massapequa, Acting Nassau County District Attorney Joyce Smith said. Cummings was pronounced dead at the scene. Massenburg was arraigned on charges of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. …

A 20-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged 2020 murder of a man and the shooting of two other victims on Long Island. Thomas Massenburg, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Wednesday, June 2, for the murder which took place on Saturday, July 4, in North Massapequa. The identity has been released of a man killed in a shooting at a Long Island home that injured two others. It happened on Saturday, July 4 at about 11:15 p.m. in North Massapequa. According to Nassau County Police detectives, units responded to West Drive for a radio assignment for shots fired. Two men were nabbed hiding in a shed on Long Island after taking police on a chase in an alleged stolen vehicle that ended in a crash. The incident took place around 1:45 p.m., Monday, May 20 in West Hempstead, according to the Nassau County Police.
