Train Service To Hamptons Suspended After Derailment, Lirr Says All Long Island Rail Road service to the Hamptons has been suspended after a Montauk train sideswiped a work train, derailing both, early Saturday morning, May 25. "Service is suspended east of Patchogue on the Montauk Branch after a train due in Montauk at 4:09 a.m. sideswiped a non-revenue train east of Speonk as part of a passing maneuver," the LIRR said in a statement.
