Man Killed After Vehicle Leaves Road, Crashes Into Tree On Long Island
Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on Long Island. It happened at 9:35 p.m. Monday, May 30 in Rocky Point. A man was operating a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Rocky Point Yaphank Road, between Whiskey Road and Route 25A, when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said. The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police. Police arrested a Long Island man for allegedly pulling a sign out of the hands of a 64-year-old man at a political rally, then following him to his car, punching him and pushing him to the ground. Police were initially unable to identify the perpetrator of the incident, which took place in Setauket at the intersection of North Country Road and Route 25A on Saturday, Sept. 12 at approximately 12:15 p.m. After an investigation, Noah Milstein of Setauket, 26, was identified as a suspect. Police are seeking out a man who allegedly ripped a political sign out of a 64-year-old man's hand before punching him and pushing him to the ground during a Long Island political rally.
