Five Charged At Sobriety Checkpoint Overnight On Long Island Five Long Island residents were charged during an overnight sobriety checkpoint. The checkpoint in Patchogue at Waverly Plaza, located at 361 North Sunrise Highway Service Road, late Friday night, Dec. 20 into early Saturday morning, Dec. 21. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team (SAFE-T) were assisted by state troopers.
