Ambulance With Patient Aboard Crashes, Injuring Five On Long Island An ambulance carrying a patient on Long Island that had its lights and sirens on was struck by a Jeep overnight on Long Island, according to authorities. The South Country Ambulance was traveling in Suffolk County on East Woodside Avenue near the intersection with Country Road 101 in Medford at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, police said.  As it reached the intersection, it was struck by a white Jeep that had been traveling north before striking the ambulance, according to police.
