Man Struck, Killed By Lirr Train In Mastic After Departure From Montauk A man was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train overnight. The incident happened around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb 17 in Mastic, according to MTA Police Department Spokesperson Aaron Donovan. The train, which departed from Montauk at around 5:20 p.m., was due into Jamaica, Queens at 8 p.m. The man was struck near the Mastic Road railroad crossing, Donovan said, adding that the incident is being investigated as a suicide. Person Struck By Train On Long Island, MTA Reports An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck by a train on Long Island. The incident happened in Suffolk County at the Ronkonkoma train station shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, according to Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson Aaron Donovan. The MTA reported that the person who was struck is male. His age has not yet been released. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, MTA reported. Long Island Man, Shot Killed Aboard Lirr Train, Police Say A Long Island man was shot and killed while onboard a train allegedly by a person he was traveling with. The Suffolk County Police homicide squad and MTA Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of Yusef Staine, age 20, of West Babylon, at the Ronkonkoma train station around 1:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16. According to police, Staine was shot by a man he appeared to be traveling with while he was on board a westbound train parked at the Ronkonkoma Station.  The man fled the scene following the shooting, police said. On Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 14, the Suffolk County PD said the two "were located, unharmed, in Manhattan today." The NYPD and MTA Police Department assisted in the investigation.

The incident took place around 5:39 p.m., Monday, June 21, in Nassau County when the pedestrian was struck by the train at Bellmore Station, said MTA officials. It was the 5:12 a.m. train from Babylon due to arrive in Penn Station at 6:14 a.m., MTA said. The incident began around 12:30 a.m., Sunday, July 7, 2019, when the man entered the Baldwin Long Island Rail Road station, said the MTA Police.
