6 Thieves Loot Wantagh Store, Drive Cars Through Front Doors: Police
Two out of six alleged thieves were arrested after they crashed stolen cars into a Long Island store, making off with merchandise, police said. It happened on Monday, Jan. 15 in Wantagh, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 5 a.m., a group of six people in BMWs crashed through the front doors of Simplex, a streetwear apparel store located at 3302 Merrick Road. Massapequa Park Woman Accused Of DWI With Child Passenger, Striking Parked Vehicle In Wantagh
A 46-year-old woman was accused of driving while intoxicated with an 8-year-old passenger in the vehicle and striking a parked vehicle on Long Island. Valerie Decker, of Massapequa Park, was arrested in Wantagh at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said Decker attempted to parallel park a 2017 Dodge Ram in front of 2166 Wantagh Avenue, the location of Maplewood School & Summer Program, and struck a 2019 Infiniti. A police officer was injured on Long Island when a woman became combative following her arrest for alleged shoplifting at an area CVS, authorities announced. Officers from the Nassau County Police Department responded to CVS on Merrick Road in Wantagh shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, where there was a report of a woman placing items into an empty shopping bag. New York has suspended liquor licenses for 15 more businesses, including three on Long Island, after finding what it labeled violations of COVID-19 pandemic-related executive orders. A Long Island woman was involved in a hit-and-run crash while driving drunk with a child in the car, police said. Officers from the Nassau County Police Department were dispatched to Rite Aid on Merrick Road in Wantagh at approximately 7:23 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, where there were reports of a woman driving while intoxicated with a child inside her Honda Accord.
