Man Arraigned For Allegedly Fatally Shooting Girlfriend In Penthouse Apartment In Mineola A Long Island man has been indicted for allegedly shooting his girlfriend to death in her apartment complex. Mark Small, age 55, of Elmont, was arraigned on Tuesday, Sept. 20, on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the shooting death which took place in Mineola on Saturday, July 30, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly. According to the investigation, 39-year-old Marivel Estevez worked in management at the Allure Mineola at 140 Old Country Road and resided there. Support Pours In For Family Of 39-Year-Old Woman Murdered In Mineola Friends of a vibrant Long Island woman allegedly shot and killed in her luxury apartment building by her boyfriend have stepped up to help her family cover funeral expenses. Marivel Estevez, age 39, of Mineola, was killed by her 55-year-old boyfriend Mark E. Small, of Elmont, around 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, in her apartment at the Allure of Mineola, said the Nassau County Police. Suspect In Custody After 39-Year-Old Woman Found Shot, Killed In Mineola A suspect is in custody after a homicide that occurred at an apartment building on Long Island. Officers in Mineola responded to a wellness check around 11:15 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at 140 Old Country Road.  Upon arrival, they discovered a 39-year-old woman with apparent gunshot wounds, Nassau County Police said.  The woman, now identified as Marivel Estevez, a resident of the apartment complex, was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police Medic.
