Man Punches Victim In Face, Then Fights, Injures Officers At New Hyde Park Gym, Cops Say A man was charged with assault after allegedly punching another man in the face at a Long Island gym and then fighting with, and injuring, police officers attempting to arrest him. The incident took place in New Hyde Park around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2 at the LA Fitness located on Marcus Avenue. According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to the gym for a report of a man bleeding.  An investigation determined that the victim, a 37-year-old man, was punched in the face resulting in substantial pain, swelling, bruises, and lacerations, police said…
