Fatal Crash: Teen Falls Asleep, Hits Car Head-On, Killing Shirley Man, Police Say A 54-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash after the other driver allegedly fell asleep and crossed into his lane of travel. The incident took place in Dutchess County in LaGrange around 3:40 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15 on Route 55. An investigation determined a 17-year-old driving a 2015 Honda CRV eastbound fell asleep and entered the westbound lane striking a 2021 Kia Sorrento driven by Suffolk County resident Gabriel T. Farmingdale Man Faces DWI Charge After Crash In Hudson Valley  A Long Island man was charged with drinking and driving following a single-vehicle crash, state police said. Early on Monday, Nov. 11, troopers from Poughkeepsie stopped Farmingdale resident Richard Tortoso, 27, on the Taconic State Parkway in LaGrange in Dutchess County when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash. During the investigation into the crash, troopers determined that Tortoso was under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.
