A pair of Long Island communities are among the “best places to live in America” in 2022, according to a newly released poll.
Each year, Niche explores the best places to live in the US, evaluating factors that include crime, public school systems, job opportunities and local amenities.
Using data based on the US Census, FBI, US Bureau of Labor (BLS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other sources, Niche then ranked the top places to live across the country, led by Chesterbrook, a suburb of Philadelphia.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees New Increases In Cases With 2,046; Latest County Totals
Long Island saw a new increase in COVID-19 cases, as well as in the positive-test rate, according to data released by New York State on Sunday, Dec. 20.
The positive testing rates for the last three days on Long Island are as follows:
Thursday, Dec. 17: 6.08 percent
Friday, Dec. 18: 6.19 percent
Saturday, Dec. 19: 6.30 percent
